A story about Henri, a young French boy who becomes Napoleon's cook, and Villanelle, a web-footed Venetian prostitute he meets on the battlefield.
A summary can't do this justice, as it's a decidedly unusual story. I loved it. Winterson is definitely becoming one of my favourite authors.
