From Amazon:
Royal Marine Mark Ormrod was just eight weeks into his tour of duty when he stepped on a landmine that tore off both his legs and his right arm. The horrific explosion, the race to airlift him out of danger, and the story of how surgeons battled to keep him alive is described in graphic detail. But it was Mark's response his wounds that has passed into Marine Corps legend: 'No sh!it. I guess my dancing days are over then'. As Mark recalls the pain he endured and how the reality of his injuries took him to the brink of despair, he also reveals how, with bloody-minded determination, he clawed his way back to life and vowed to stand with his comrades to receive his campaign medal. Using his 'bionic' legs, he not only made it, but has since completed a parachute jump and a snowboarding course. Today he is the 'standard bearer' for the returning battled-scarred British heroes who've fought in some of the most hostile territories in the world. Told with brutal honesty, this gritty, no-holds barred memoir gives a rare insight into the harrowing world of life as a frontline soldier, and the terrible legacy of war. It is a story of resilience and courage you will never forget.

On a personal note: my brother is a Royal Marine and was at Stonehouse barracks the same time as Mark and counts him as a friend. My brother read this book and was totally astounded by it - said it was the best book he'd read!!
