Haven't read John Irving & have always wanted to. Picked this one up at a used book store in Jenkintown.
Started to read and lost interest. I just can't imagine why I need to read at least an entire chapter about the character of the hand surgeon. Promised to another BXer.

Just got this in the mail ... thank you ... maybe I will get a chance to read this over vacation...
I really enjoyed this book - as I do all of Irving's work. I wouldn't put this in the same class as Owen Meany, but it is an enjoyable read which often made me laugh and cry. I recommend this.
