Just registering this ready for reading.

This is the 3rd Book of Wilbur Smith's Egyptian Novels series.
"Set in Egypt and following on from River God and The Seventh Scroll, Warlock marks the return of one of the world's finest adventure writers with a masterful story of battle and intrigue, love and passion, good and evil.

Hidden away in the vast forbidding deserts of North Africa, Taita has passed the years since the death of his beloved Queen Lostris in prayer and study. He has become the Warlock, wise in the lore of the ancient gods, an adept of magic and the supernatural.

Now Taita answers the summons from beyond. He leaves the desert vastness and returns o the world of men, to find himself plunged into a terrible conflict against the forces of evil, which threaten to overwhelm the throne and the realm of Egypt, and to destroy the young Prince Nefer, who is the grandson of Queen Lostris.

'A stirring tale... Smith has whipped up a heady brew... and undoubtedly deserves his immense popularity'

'Warlock is a ripping yarn and a classic adventure story'

This took me ages to read as I was recovering from an operation. However, once I got going, I could not put it down! A real page turner with something for everyone. Also, as this book is so long it feels like many books in one (in this case it's a good thing). I just love the characters, their interaction with each other, their dialogue and the way Mr Smith skilfully navigates them around constant troubles and dangers. But what I really appreciate is the way he leaves no loose ends. Nothing worse than getting to the end of a book and being left (unnecessarily) hanging! This book is a keeper. I'm definatly goiing to have to visit Ancient Egypt again!
