Happy Christmas dearie - just wanted to send you something along with the compliments of the season :)
Why thank you very much Microsquid for this christmas surprise. I hope 2010 is full of excitment (and sleep when required). See you at the Convention!
This is a very clever premise, and puts across what it might be like to live in a society that goes from semi-democratic to dictatorial in a short space of time. The way people react (desertion of the island, defiance, defeat) is all covered.
The play on words and how the author takes the letters out of the story as they fall is great. The presumption that Nollop becomes a God was a little much, in the five or so months the book covers.
A thought provoking read. Thank you microsquid :)

Well, I've just read this a second time and....I think it's a book you only need to read once. So I'm making it available and will pass on in true book crossing style!
Passing on to a friend to read while they travel to Wales via plane and train.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I'm not the greatest fan of epistolary novels but the idea of disappearing letters sets it apart. Cleverly written. A captivating read. Highly recommended.
