I loved this book while growing up. It was written the year I was born and set within an hour of every place I've ever lived. I've re-read this book as an adult, and I found it at least as enjoyable as it was when I was little. It's very touching, and it's so easy to relate to Blaine, in spite of the fact that he lives and grows up in such a different time than my own. I have shared other copies of this book with a few friends who have all really enjoyed it as well. I am going to set this copy free in the world and hope that its subsequent readers enjoy it too. I hope it travels well and reaches many readers in its time!

I bought this copy of Blaine's Way at a charity shop here in Cambridge. I can see from a stamp inside the cover that this book was once part of the Kinkardine District Secondary School History Department. It has some signs of wear so I am sure that, even though no names are written in the space provided, it must have passed through a reader or two already-- it's already been travelling, I guess! I am going to doctor this up a bit before I let it go.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

I left this book in Fergus this afternoon after a disappointing trip to the Scottish shop (which appears to be closing, and was not open this aft), on the way to Elora in search of another Scottish shop. I propped it against the leg of a large wooden Scot (I forget the name-- sorry!).

If you've found this book, thanks for picking it up and checking out its journal! If you're new to bookcrossing, welcome. I really hope that you enjoy both this book and the whole bookcrossing experience!

This book was released as part of the 2009 "52 Towns in 52 Weeks" release challenge. Fergus was town #49 for me! (photo to come)

Just starting to read it and it seems very good. I like the fact that the story is based in Ontario.

It was a very quick read, in that you didn't want to put it down. It was nice reading something that you knew of the place.
