The Pupil

Journal Entry 1 by LadyIndigo from Orange, New South Wales Australia on Wednesday, December 16, 2009
Of the two pupil barristers in the prestigious chambers at Caper Court headed by Sir Basil Bunting, only one can win the coveted place of junior tenant. Anthony Cross is brilliant but up against it, for his rival, the not very bright Edward Choke, is Sir Basil's nephew.
Set in a barristers' chambers, a delectable novel about rivalry at work, and in love...
Fresh and unusual with moments which are both touching and sad, The Pupil could be described as a novel about sex and the law, but it is also the saga of office politics and rivalry at work which takes a mercilessly humourous look at the British class system.
