Thank you so much for sending this book to me. It's a beauty, a soft cover coffee table book full of full colour photos.
This brings back memories of my childhood in England, nearly half a century ago! We used to listen to Alistair Cooke's BBC radio program, called "Letters from America". Later he was commissioned by the BBC to do a television program about the history of America, this book is based on the scripts for that film. My knowledge of American history is not very deep, so I'm hoping to be not only entertained by this book but also informed.

I've had this book for over 2 years now. It has been sitting on my bedside table, being enjoyed from time to time as I kept dipping into it a little bit here and a little bit there. Now it's time to pass it along to someone else to enjoy.
