This book was on the pile I ended up buying just before Christmas from Recycled Reads in Austin.

From inside cover: "When Steven Connors died suddenly on Christamas morning, six-year-old David felt Christmas had died right along with him. Little did David know that his father would not be far from reach. Or that with each visit Steven Connors would look - and sound - more like a certain jolly old gentleman David had stopped blieinb in.
Here is a grand Christmas tale told in the fine tradition of Dicken's A Classic Christmas Carol and Frank Capra's classic film, It's a Wonderful Life".

And I've got to agree with that. A cute little Christmas story.

My father handed me The Night Before Christmas.
'Not that', I complained. 'Are you crazy?'
'Why not?' he asked. 'It used to be your favorite.'
'It's not my favorite now. Besides, it's February. Christmas is ten months away.'
'That's ridiculous', my father said, laughing. 'Samuel thinks it's Christmas all year around.'
'It's the day you died', I whispered to my father.

Reserving for next Christmas releases...

Safe journey little book - I hope you'll make many new friends on your travels!

"Don't ever apologize to an author for buying something in paperback, or taking it out from a library (that's what they're there for. Use your library). Don't apologize to this author for buying books second hand, or getting them from bookcrossing or borrowing a friend's copy. What's important to me is that people read the books and enjoy them, and that, at some point in there, the book was bought by someone. And that people who like things, tell other people. The most important thing is that people read... "

I found this one in Malminkartano library shelf and wanted to see where it has been and this book has had an adventure, many wild releases and catches. I'm glad I found it.

Journal Entry 9 by wingtoukokuuwing at Helsinki, Uusimaa / Nyland Finland on Saturday, November 5, 2016
Not my favourite story, it didn't really touch my heart.

Edit: 10.11.2016: I paged through the book again and I wonder if the problem was I wasn't really in the right mood for the story. It's a story about accepting death and how this young boy gets over the traumatic event of losing his father on Christmas Day. It will be interesting to hear what other people feel about this.

Journal Entry 15 by LolaRobin at Vammala, Pirkanmaa / Birkaland Finland on Tuesday, December 12, 2017
Oh what a lovely story, it made me so emotional.. I'm very glad I wished for this cause I loved it to bits. Not as sad as one could imagine. The shortness of the book didnt bother me either, everything worth saying was said.

This book is ready to move to the next reader.
