I'd read this before, and found it difficult because of all the violence. This time was even worse. Yes, it's certainly well-written and has moments of hope, but I just can't handle it. If the book stays in my house any longer, I'll start writing to my Senators about building a wall around Afghanistan and never letting anyone out. Bad, bad idea. So I'll be taking this up to a coffee shop with nice big bookshelves, and letting more appreciative readers have a chance at it.
