Picked up at March BX meet up. Really looking forward to reading this one as Playing the Moldovans at Tennis was so funny.
Picked up at the monthly Edinburgh meetup. Sorry it's taken me a couple to days to journal but I think most people at the meetup now know I don't have a computer.
I vaguely remember this when it happened but I think I heard about it more through interviews when he was promoting the book. It is a very entertaining read with several laugh out loud moments which isn’t always good on your commute. It combines the day to day adventures of Tony along with the ridiculous situations that he finds himself in. The reaction of the Irish people that he comes across is irrational and typical at the same time. It is funny as well as touching and moving, acting as a metaphor for life - and all written brilliantly.

While drunk, Tony Hawks makes a bet with a friend that he won't hitch round Ireland with a fridge. The bet is for £100, the fridge costs £130. But the adventures, and the friendships made, as the people of Ireland take 'fridge man' and his ridiculous journey into their hearts, must make it all worthwhile. Meanwhile the fridge develops a personality, and a philosophy, of its own. Frivolous, fun, will bring a smile to your face.

Travelling to NowINkA as my RABCK for March. Enjoy! :)
The book arrived today, safe & sound. Thank you! I will start it as soon as I finish my current read.
I kind of thought that this book would be more like "The Irish Fan's Guide to Euro 2012"* which I enjoyed greatly (and still do when picking it up from time to time) but unfortunately, it was not. In fact, it was fairly entertaining at first, with an excellent concept (!!!) and some laugh-out-loud moments, but I also found it a bit repetitive after a while.
