This book looks REALLY interesting! It looks like a formidable read, though... that's tiny type! I'll read it as quick as my eyes and reading schedule allow and journal...
I am just past the halfway mark in this one and I just had to journal with praise for the book so far! First of all, the layout and the woodcut art on each page really adds to the story. I am so glad it was designed this way! I was reading this one during "the big blackout" and while it kept me company through most of the quiet night (hey, we got to watch the meteor shower in the middle of the city!), I had to put it down and read another book due to eyestrain-by-flashlight!
I really hope that the rest of the readers on our circle enjoy this one as much as I am. I'll journal when I am finished with all of my favorite characters and sections...

Well, the fairy tale does come to light in this comprehensive novel! What an ingeneous retelling of the old classic with quite a few twists. I very much enjoyed all of the characters and their intertwining stories as the tale unfolds to parallel our familiar one. I can't think of one part that really stood out for me as I enjoyed the whole book but Chistery, Aelphaba as a baby and Princess Nastoya were memorable characters for me. And of course the horrible puzzles and plays of the Clock of the Time Dragon.
Thanks for including this one, pchemphd! I hope everyone else finds this one truly bizarre and fulfilling!

Just received. Can't wait to read!
Not really my cup of tea. I'm not sure why I don't like it. I loved Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister. I guess a big part of it is that I've never been a fan of The Wizard of Oz. This story just doesn't grab me and I can't make myself finish it. Hopefully the next reader will enjoy it more.
Thanks for including me in the ring!

No response from mom-of-one. Going to try LaurieS. If I don't hear from her in a week or two, I'm going to just send it back to pchemphd.
