Two dogs escape from an experimental research station in the Lake District, where they have been horribly tortured and mistreated in the name of science. As they run for their lives on the hard fells they attempt to survive wild and free.

Nice to FIND a book for a change while shopping at Spar-Markt - it's one of my favourite release spots. Actually I simply exchanged it, left the cat mystery Felidae next to the catfood.
Danke, vampyra!

What a wonderfull read! Adams has a particular skill of describing both caracter and landsape. I almost felt i was running in the hills of the Lakelands! On the down side there is the tod. As a character he is necessary for the story, but it was completely impossible to understand what he was saying. Once i skiped his lines i got on much better.

The story is not only about the dogs, but also about all the people around them who is involved in this situation. It is about how people react when they are faced with responsibility, opportunity, ethics and why they make their choises.

This book is strongly recomended.
