Synopsis
A gang of street urchins and an American soldier fight to liberate the city of Naples from the German army Naples, late September, 1943. The war in Europe is almost won. Italy is leaderless; Mussolini already arrested by anti-fascists. The city has been evacuated, but the German army is moving towards Naples to finish the job. Their chilling instructions are: if the city can't belong to Hitler, it will belong to no one. No one but the children. Orphaned or hidden by parents, abandoned or lost, some as young as ten years old, the children of Naples resist. Aided by a lone Allied soldier, cut off from his regiment, and armed with just a handful of guns, unexploded bombs and their own ingenuity, the street boys are determined to take on the advancing enemy and save the city - or die trying.

It took me forever to start to read this because lately my tbr-pile has been HUGE. But when I started Street boys, it wasn't long till I was finished. I really liked this book, mainly because I liked the characters(even nazis) and the author moved story smoothly from place to place. I guess I will keep this for a while, 'cause my friend might want to read this. But after that I'll figure what to do with Street boys.
Happy birthday! =)
Thank you for sending this for my birthday, it looks really interesting, it may take me a while to get to it because my TBR pile is massive.
Thanks too for the card.

Book arrived to Riga today. Thank you.
On September 2, 2023, during the "Days of Ukrainian Cinema" in Riga I have an honor to meet an amazing Ukrainian actor, screenwriter and film director Akhtem Seitablayev. Together with my friend Yuliia we watched the movie "Mirnyj-21" and after we asked Anthem to sing this book for Yuliia's husband, who now is fighting for the freedom of Ukraine.
In November I will have an opportunity and honor to meet in-person her husband and give this book to him.
