Not all monsters look like monsters. Some everyday folk turn out to be the worst monsters of them all.

Set in the world of the Half-Continent-a land of tri-corner hats and flintlock pistols-the Monster Blood Tattoo trilogy is a world of predatory monsters, chemical potions and surgically altered people. Foundling begins the journey of Rossamund, a boy with a girl's name, who is just about to begin a dangerous life in the service of the Emperor. What starts as a simple journey is threatened by encounters with monsters-and people, who may be worse. Learning who to trust and who to fear is neither easy nor without its perils, and Rossamund must choose his path carefully.

Complete with appendices, maps, illustrations, and a glossary, Monster Blood Tattoo grabs readers from the first sentence and immerses them in an entirely original fantasy world with its own language and lore.

Excellent and fun read. I was totally engrossed and genuinely disappointed when the book ended, especially as there were so many more pages in the book, taken up by the appendices.

I am really looking foreward the the next books and when my child is of age, I look will definitely be buying him a copy and will read it to him at noght.

Must admit that this isn't the best fantasy book I've ever read. It was just OK. However, I'm still curios as to what will happen with Rossamünd - who is his parents? Will he change the way that people think of monsters? Will he meet Europe again? I've got lots of questions which I hopefully will get an answer to if I read the next couple of books in the serie.

Thanks for sharing - the book will continue its journey asap

Journal Entry 13 by Caramae from Beneden-Leeuwen, Gelderland Netherlands on Monday, March 15, 2010
Just arrived in the post along with a bookmark, a copy of A Christmas Carol (now I have 14 of those again lol) and a Spiderman notebook. My brothers are a bit too old for Spiderman nowadays but I know someone who works with many families that have children so I'm sure she'll know someone who'll love it. Thanks DitteL for all the extra surprises :)
Will read this asap so it can go on to its next reader.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

I am releasing this book later this week (needs to be sent as parcel post so requires a visit to the postoffice) but because I currently have no internet at home and am visiting my family who do have internet... I thought it would be smart to make the release note in advance lest I may forget it if I were to save that till next week.

This book is almost 600 grams which puts it in the 500g-2kg category so I thought I might as well send along something else that needs to go to nediamnori87.

Oh, almost forgot to tell you what I thought of the book. It is not my usual type of fantasy read, and at times I wasn't sure if I liked it enough to want to read more, but... considering the ending and the glimpse the author gives us of the character's new life I am made curious enough to want to know more. I think it's very likely I'll try to get my hands on the next part.

Are you sure you want to delete this item? It cannot be undone.
