Tehran in 1958, a man named Nasser Ali Khan, one of Iran's most loved tar players, finds that his beloved instrument has been damaged by his own wife. Though he tries, he can't find another tar as beautiful as the first, and so decides to die. Over the course of the following 8 days, his family and friends try to change his mind, but Nasser Ali slips further and further into his own reveries, flashbacks and flash forwards from his childhood to the future of his children.

Yet again beautiful work from Satrapi, though I found it a lot more touching and sad than any of the others I've read.
