Listened to this book on audio then found a copy at the library booksale. Including in the "One Word" bookbox hosted by svoight. Happy travels!
Taking out of svoight's One Word Title bookbox - thanks! I kind of have mixed feelings about whether I will like this but am going to give it a try and maybe stretch my horizons! :)
I have finally read this book!
This was a very slow read for me. The story is essentially a monologue supposed to be a letter this pastor is writing to his son - it was not convincing to me that it was a letter. But as a memoir where he is reminiscing and looking back at his life and the wisdom he acquired, it works. This book slowly grew on me as I read it, one small chunk at a time. By the end of the book, I could almost picture the man, his life, his thoughts, fears and triumphs. However I would say that this book is an acquired taste and not for everyone.
