From the cover:
"Married life seems to agree with Dexter Morgan: he's devoted to his bride, hi stomach is full and his homicidal hobbies seem nicely under control. But old habits die hard and Dexter's work as a blood spatter analyst never fails to offer new temptations that appeal to his offbeat sense of justice..."

Brilliant! I read it one day. It's so funny & dark. I loved when he went to Cuba with someone else in charge & was totally baffled.
Won't say any more in case I spoil it.
Thanks for sharing katacs
I'll PM Perryfran for their address.

Dexter is one of my favorite TV series - it's currently in its fourth season on Showtime and I have enjoyed all of it. This is the first Dexter novel I have read. Since this is the 4th novel in the series, I have obviously missed out on some of the storyline in the books that differ from the Showtime series. For example, in the TV show, Sgt. Doakes was killed off in the second season. In the book, Doakes is still around although severely maimed. Also, Dex's sister Deborah knows about Dexter's "dark passenger" unlike in the TV series. And probably the most shocking difference is that Dexter has his stepchildren in training to follow in his footsteps in the novel! I did enjoy this book and I definitely need to go back and read the prior three. I give Lindsay a lot of credit for coming up with this great character but to me, the TV series is superior.
Thanks again katacs for including me in this ring. I have Tinina67's address and will get the book in the mail today.

This was surprisingly good. The first pages were a bit confusing, but then I really enjoyed reading it. I never watched the TV series, but that might change now.

Thanks, top of my reading pile!
Better than the supernatural nonsense of book 3, but I still have a feeling that this series is running out of steam.
