I caught this book on the Canon books. I am interested to read her life story from leaving a baby in liverpool, cleaning and time in the jungle

My good friend from Edinburgh came to visit briefly last weekend and she had grabbed this book from the Canongate Bookcrossing Zone shelf which they have in the foyer. She read the book on the train to London and was so amazed and shocked by Kim's life story that she enthusiastically convinced me I had to read it. I get the impression she was somewhat sceptical about some of the content. Looking forward to reading this one/

This book was really quite something and I don't think it did Pat McKenzie aka Kim Woodburn any favours at all. She came across as an incredibly self absorbed and grittily determined person who thought the world owed her a favour and was quite happy to coast on it. I found it very hard to believe the endless tales of woe, abuse and depravity documented in the book and I wonder how much of Kim's history is remembered very differently by the others who lived it with her.
