The bookring starts today! I'm mailing the book to Virgulina in Portugal.
The book arrived today. :) I'd like to read it before I go on vacation but I can't promise anything. I'll probably have to take a little more time with it. I'll journal more when I finish!
This book arrived safe and sound (along with 2 other books and a book box). I will read it as soon as I can. :)
The descriptions are wonderful but the punctuation -- especially in the dialogue is gastly. I guess he's trying for a Joseph Conrad / Heart of Darkness meets Gone with the Wind. I don't like Conrad's style of writing either. I wanted to mark quotation marks for all the dialogue (I didn't, of course).

I nearly sent this book off to the wrong person. While I wait for WickedWordz to send me an address, I'm holding on to this book. I hope my release notes didn't cause too much panic. :(
Journal Entry 10 by caligula03 at -- By Hand Or Post, Ray/Ring, RABCK, Meetup in Miami, Florida USA on Thursday, September 4, 2003
Release planned for Saturday, September 06, 2003 at Mailed to another bookcrosser in Miami, Florida USA.
I'm really releasing the book this week. Last week I had the wrong bookcrosser down as the next person. I've now got in contact with the correct person and will be mailing it off to WickedWordz this Saturday. I'm so sorry for the delay!

Recieved today, and can't wait to start reading it. Thanks for giving me the chance. I have a good amount of booking/ray books to read before this, so it may take a while for me to get around to reading "Cold Mountain". If I take too long, I'll send it to kalipriestess to read, and in the meantime, I'll make a dent in Mt. TBR :)
Will send out as soon as I get to the post office. Already packaged and ready to go.
Just realized that I never left a journal for this book when I finished reading it. I thought the style of writing and the great attention to detail absolutely wonderful. I've never read this type of book before, and it took me a few chapters to get drawn into the story. It's amazing the carnality that can lurk in the hearts of men, and while the GUN is a pivotal part of the violence in this book (representing the unjust and evil), it also has the power of salvation and freedom. A powerful weapon indeed.
As promised, I'll be starting a ray/ring with this book. If anyone still wants to join.
Now, to see the movie! :)
