Having never read a book of Maeve Binchy's in all these years I was encoured to take the plunge and pick up a couple of her novels from the charity shop after listening to an extremely entertaining interview with her with Jenny Murray on Woman's Hour (BBC Radio 4). If her books are any reflection of her beaming and perceptive personality, this should be a hoot!
