My sister found the book shortly before Christmas in the University library in Oldenburg and gave it to me. Currently it's with me in Weimar and I have just started reading it. It's curious that the book found the way back from Greece to Germany, isn't it?

CAUGHT IN OLDENBURG NIEDERSACHSEN DEUTSCHLAND

Finally read the book. It's a short, obscure, and sad book. I thinks it's more or less a story about coming to terms with loss. The loss the main character of the book, Lauren Hartke, suffers is the death of her husband. After that a strange figure appears in her house, whether it is a real person or not is up to debate. This man she calls Mr Tuttles can imitate her and her husabands voice, but does not seem able to understand what is going on around him. She uses her impressions as a valve of an artistic outburst, as she goes on stage playing different people with great caution, whether male or female, moving her body in the4 most appropriate way for the character she is playing (hence the title "The Body Artist"), even when she is playing herself. For em the end makes clear that she can accept her being alone now, when she observes that "The room was empty when she looked. No one was there."

The book will be released in the library in Jena.
