I couldn't wait to get my hands on this, because I loved Wally Lamb's other novels. I found this to be a rather long read, with some wanderings that did not move the story along or enhance the characters. I'd like to know why his editor didn't tighten it up a bit. It's an epic tale and, at times, brilliant. My book club gave it mixed reviews with some folks liking it more than I did.

Long and wandering, this is a story of five generations of Quirk family members. The Columbine school shooting becomes part of the setting for the narrator. I like generational sagas but this one is too real with the Columbine details. Not my favorite ccombination.
