From back cover:

Lawyer George Remus was once the country's most successful bootlegger, grossing over $80 million until the time of his arrest. Upon his release from prison, he learns that his beautiful wife has left him, and worse, his bank accounts are empty. In a move that sends shock waves through the nation, George does the unthinkable- and ensures his place in infamy.

Based on the true story, The Jazz Bird is at once a love story, a crime novel, and the tale of the sensational courtroom battle between two powerful men whose respective futures hand in the balance.

Not great, not horrible, just not a book I would typically read. I was curious because of it's local ties. It's well written and I'm glad I read it.
