I read this book a while back and enjoyed it a lot, so I bought a second copy to make into a bookring.
It has a little bit of magic and little bit of romance in it. I never thought of fairies (or magic) as creepy or evil, but I guess in those days they did..

Based on the story of "Tam Lin" and "Lady Isabel and the Elf Knight".

Back cover: Lady Jeanette Avenel is the free-spirited second daughter of a nobleman in 12th century Scotland. When her elder sister, Isabel, is dishonored, Jenny is asked to relinquish her freedom in an attempt to save the good name of her father's house. But will the affection of a mysterious young man lead to Jenny's ruin as well? Lady Jeanette battles tradition and magic amid a world alive with medieval pageantry. Hers is the timeless story of a young woman who seeks to control her own destiny to win a better life for herself and her sister.

Weight: about 174 grams, and 337 pages.

Reserving this for a bookring.

Journal Entry 5 by nediamnori87 from St Andrews, Scotland United Kingdom on Tuesday, October 13, 2009
This was a very easy book to read and reminded me much more of a fantasy story rather than that of a historical fiction. I still enjoyed the book set against the background of medieval Scotland and like the way the author rekindled two old 'poems'.

Thank you very much for sharing the book I'll post it off this weekend

This was an easy and enjoyable story to read and was my airport reading this time around. THe fusion of historical elements and fantasy really made for an interesting and different story. I'll pm the next person for their address but won't be able to send the book until I'm back in the UK next week.

the book is read... and I quite liked it though the magic part was a bit too small - in my opinion..

I asked the next reader for her address but haven't heard from her yet.. (that was a week ago).
On her shelf she writes about some pm problems?!?!?
Will write a second one...

I really enjoyed reading it. I want to see if I can find copies of the poems. I did a quick search via google and found some sites that I will check out later. Should be very interesting. This book was pretty magical. I hope everyone else likes it like I do.

I didn't expect to be finished so soon. I started it on Friday and finished it today. I will be contacting Dancesports for their address to send it on.
