Bought this because it's by the author of the Twilight books and I love the ones I've read of those, so thought I'd give this a go, at some point.

Having recently seen the trailer for the film of this book I thought it was about time I gave it a go. I really liked the concept of this story when I first started the book, although it did remind me of The Hunger Games or the Matched trilogy that I have previously read. I quickly got interested in the story, in spite of the similarities, and enjoyed the contrasts between Wanda and Melanie. At some point though, I got a bit disheartened with the whole idea and stopped reading it. When I did finish the book, it all felt a bit anti-climatic (a bit like the Twilight stories). Although I enjoyed the book I won't be reading it again or adding to my permanent collection so this is available for anyone who enjoys a teenage read =)

What a lovely surprise to come home too, thank you sooooo much :-)

21 Aug 15 - Oooo she likes a love triangle doesn't she! I wasn't a huge fan of the twilight series, particularly the last two books as there were too soppy. But decided to give this a go to see what it was like. I did watch the film about a year ago although to be fair didn't remember a huge amount about it, although this did jog my memory as it went along. It felt like a pretty slow start, it took me a long time to get half way through, after that things speeded up a bit. There appeared to be quite a bit of repetition in this book which I could of done without, but the concept was certainly an interesting one.

Sorry but I was unable to finish this book I got halfway and gave up. I felt like this book was rather confusing and was tieing the reader up in nots and tangles that couldn't be undone. I also thought that the main female character kept victimising herself and made no attempt to better/ improve herself through out the novel and why is it that she always wants to have sex with someone honestly!!! Is that all she thinks about. I also found melaine very childish and unrealistic/ unrelatable and couldn't get on with her at all
