Blue Shoe

Another great book by one of my favorite of all-time authors. This one is fiction but with obvious some biographical stuff thrown in. I love the way Lamott stays in touch with the emotional side of the characters.
Oh, Anne Lamott, how I wish you lived in Alvin! I think we would be friends. Blue Shoe is my favorite Lamott fiction book so far. Her spirituality has begun to seep into her fiction now, but it's not preachy. Traveling Mercies and Bird by Bird and Operating Instructions, all nonfiction, are still my overall Lamott favorites. I think I will browse through this book again and then pass it on, possibly, to a book friend in the Chicago area who mentioned wanting to read this book.

Anne Lamott is funny, sad, and true, all at the same time. I'm sending this off in busybusybee's Mixed Genre BC Bookbox tomorrow for someone else to enjoy!

Another pick from a book box! I think this is one of the best book boxes I've participated in! Will post when I read this book...
I didnt' enjoy it as much as I had expected to, but I felt it was worth the time spent reading. I'm sending this to another bookcrosser friend. Hope she gets more out of it than I did!
Thank you Ratmammy! :-) Just received in the post today.
