The Book of Lies
1 journaler for this copy...
There is a hidden gem in this book. It MIGHT be how Meltzer updates and solves the first murder in recorded history; or it MIGHT be how he deftly weaves a real 1932 unsolved murder with the origins of Superman; or it MIGHT be the relationships between the main characters (who seem all too real); or it might be something else entirely ;-) Only by reading the book will you know for sure.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a great mystery, to anyone who likes a great thriller, to anyone who likes the solving of unsolved true crimes, and to anyone who just can't pass up a book that involves the modern incarnation of Nazis ;-)
There is so much in here that it is easy for me to recommend it to almost any reader; even teens could enjoy this one. I had a great time reading it; the pace was fast (I read half the book before I realized it!); the characters perfectly rendered (you find yourself rooting for the main character from the "git go"); and the mysteries, nestled one within the other like Russian dolls, are wonderfully absorbing. I'm pleased to report I could not guess the final outcome of the book even though all the clues were right there in plain sight!
