Mercy Thompson's life is not exactly normal. Her next-door neighbor is a werewolf. Her former boss is a gremlin. And she's fixing a VW bus for a vampire. But then, Mercy isn't exactly normal herself.

How the bookring works:
* Someone will PM you for your address, PM them back and provide your address
* When you receive the book, please make a journal entry letting everyone know that you received it
* Put the book at the top of your TBR pile (under other rings/rays that arrived first)
* Read the book (take your time and enjoy the book, don't feel rushed to finish it but try to get it out to next reader within four weeks)
* When the end is in sight, check the book's journal and PM the next person to get their address
* Finish the book, make another journal entry and let everyone know what you thought of the book
* Send the book to the next person on the list.

Hint: Ask for the address of the next on the list before you have finished reading; sometimes it takes a while before you get a reply. Some people don't get PM's. You may want to look for an e-mail address on their profile, or leave an ISO message on the forum. If the person doesn't respond within 7-10 days (use your judgement), please PM the next person, and then me, so I can update the bookring list.

I'm in deep shyte. I had four books arriving yesterday and then this and another today. I'll have to hand in my resignation so that I have sufficient time to read. This looks right up my alley and I've dipped into it already. Bumping it right up to first to read (with the Sedaris book as well as Stephen King's "Just After Sunset" which I'm currently reading - Luckily the're both Short Stories/Essays so I won't loose the thread)

Thanks for sharing

Done & dusted. A quick read but it's like candyfloss. Lots of air with little substance. Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Tankgirl? Thanks for sharing. I'm passing this on the Tallulah1, one of my coleagues, to read before sending it on. This is her scene to be sure. She's a quick reader so I'll post it soon.

Thanks for sharing

Can you believe how stupid I am !!!

I was reading the first page of the book when it feels like "déjà vu".

I thought it was because I read the beginning on amazon but I finally decided to check on my bookshelf...

And guess what I journal(l)ed on August 2008.... Moon called !!!!

This is what I said then "It was a very entertaining story !
I'm glad to know these new characters !
Thanks again for sharing "

I ask bananabrianna for an address

Thanks so much for sharing this book! It does seem like a mash-up of Laurell K. Hamilton's two series Anita and Merry, only better written and a more likable protagonist.

This is a very fast read. I didn't have a chance to read it on my trip, but took the weekend off post-trip to relax and got it read. As others said, candyfloss, but great when you've had as stressful and crazy busy months as I've had for a couple. I removed this book from my wishlist, having read it, but look forward to reading other Mercy Thompson books.

Because I didn't know when I would get around to reading this book, I did not yet ask for last-unicorn's address. I'll get it and get this posted right away, although with the holidays, it will probably ship slowly.
