Starting this tomorrow.
Early doubts not dispelled. Do people really say "I am so happy that you never threw away those old stacks of almanacs and turn-of-the-century periodicals since I love to read them and they do tell me about the past"? I seriously doubt it, outside of an Austen novel. The "desire and temptation" mentioned on the book's rear cover better turn up soon for the benefit of my sanity.
Gave up halfway through and skipped to the end. No great surprises.
