The Shack challenges preconceived notions of who God is, how He works, what He looks like, and how we relate as humans to Him (or Her). Young breaks down stereotypical barriers in a clever, insightful and absorbing work. It's a story of Love.

A note about this particular copy of "The Shack"...

With Jesus on board the '68 Mooney, Bruce (my amazingly skilled husband/pilot) at the violently shaking yoke, and our wide-eyed daughter Rio holding tightly to my hand, I prayed and praised God for 13 harrowing minutes over the mountains of Idaho. Black smoke billowed out of the single engine plane 5,800 feet above a 5,200 foot field elevation, 15 miles from Sun Valley Airport. With the dials pegged, the stall warning blaring in my headset, and a piping hot firewall, I held my breath as Bruce, with the calmness of a hero and the presence of God in the cockpit, applied standard aviation emergency procedures. He killed the about-to-explode engine and brought us safely to a happy ending on the runway loaded with emergency vehicles and 8 firetrucks.

An extra special thank you to Author Bill Young: Not only was this book a great read, but the sturdy pages, wedged in the the plane's only door, kept it open providing an escape in the case of a less-than-perfect landing. We know BookCrossing changes lives, but this particular book was there to save ours -- literally.
