Even with huge problems to worry about Father McKenzie still manages to see the good in everyone. His job is made more diffuclt by his nosy housekeeper amd the gossips from the shop down the road. Will they succeed in spoiling things, or will Father McKenzie's advice win the day?
Who could resist a book named for a beatles song, with the lead character named for one of those in that song? it looks promising.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Sending to Herchelle as part of the Yorkshire Day exchange. Gervase Phinn is an author born in Yorkshire. Enjoy!
Thank you so much for sharing this lovely little book with me. I didn't catch the Beatles connection until I read the previous JE's. What a lovely bookmark, too!
Very sweet little book, when I finished this quick read I looked up the lyrics to Eleanor Rigby. Thanks for the opportunity to read this jewel.
Putting this in the mail soon for kirjakko in Finland for the "2x the fun" Sweeps. Enjoy!
What a nice surprise! Gervase Phinn as a school inspector has become one of my favourites lately, so I'm very much looking forward to reading this as well. And with this arrived my first X-mas card for this year!! Thanks!
Where is my mile long journal of the book???? I read it already on the following day of the arrival and wrote a loooong story about it, but it has dissappeared!! My journal has been robbed! Oh gosh, I can't remember half of what I wrote. Very different Phinn from what I've read before. Somewhat sad, but from here, too, you can see that kids are close to his heart. And the pedophile accusation has probably happened to him in real life as he has written something in the same lines in his school inspector books.
Sorry, can't remember anything more as I "came back" just to write that I took the book to our BC pre-X-mas meeting and left it there.

This one found it's way to my reading pile. Looks like a quick read.
Quick read indeed, once I got round to this. The story was quite light and not very surprising but the language was good. Maybe this one is most suitable for an occasional reader.
