#1 The Maker's Song series (Urban Fantasy/Paranormal - light on the romance)
A Rush of Wings is my #1 favorite paranormal read of 2009 so far. I'd like to give it more than 10 stars -- it totally knocked my socks off! This is the kind of book I'd like to buy a bunch of copies of and send to everyone I know.
This is a dark, sometimes violent book, feauring vampires, other fascinating otherworldly beings (no spoiler), a serial killer called The Cross Country Killer, FBI Agent Heather Wallace who is one of the agents tracking the killer ... Something is linking Dante, the very cool, totally amazing and engrossing young vampire rock star to the CCK.
I read this book twice, and that's a rarity for me.
An absolutely superb vampire tale -- complex, fascinating, thrilling ... I ran to the computer by page 20 to get details on others in the series, and to check for any other books by Adrian Phoenix.
If you like darker paranormals, this is a HUGE WINNER. You can read Chapter One of this first book in the series at the author's site :-).
