I chose this book as one of my selections from Elizardbreath's bookbox titled, Books People Would Actually Read. It looks interesting since I like travel type of books.

Found this an interesting sort of book. Lucky is the woman who can afford to take off and live in different parts of the world for the good part of the year. My favorite parts were when the author was in Italy and Bali. I did find the author a but full of herself though especially when she went on about her broken marriage. I enjoyed reading about her experiences in Italy, Inda and Indonesia and that in the end she finally found some peace in her life. I wonder how the upcoming movie version will play out.

This book will be traveling again in the Travel Narrative Book Box. Bon Voyage

Journal Entry 6 by debnance at Alvin, Texas USA on Saturday, September 4, 2010
I read this book back in 2006:

Liz is miserable. One night she finds herself on the floor, sobbing, desperately crying out to God. She is startled, shocked, to hear God answer. The answer sends her on a quest to find a new life. In the course of a year, she travels to Italy, India, and Indonesia in search of pleasure, spirituality, and balance. I loved traveling with her, watching her grow and change, usually at times neither she nor I would have expected for change to occur. Just reading the book made me feel like I'd undergone a journey of my own, like I'd grown, too. Recommended.

This book arrived home in my travel narrative bookbox. I've read this one already so I will be moving it along. Having been to Rome and Bali it made it more interesting. Bali's tourism increased a lot by middle age women who had read the book. They have a love/hate relationship with the book.
