Given to me by a friend, but I just am unable to get far into this book. Beautifully written, yes, but it's just depressing the hell out of me. I need cheerful right now, as I regroup my world after my mother's death. I think I'll let this go. Tucked inside is a copy of a review of the book on NPR. No, I didn't see the movie.

Saw this on a dear friend's wish list and decided it needed to go to her rather than wait for me to resume reading it. I've had it "in progress" for months.
