I love the spareness and mystery of the writing here. It made me wish I could read the book in its original Italian. The chapters are short musical tone poems that build into a tale that's like a fable. I found the historic settings fascinating and the deeper mysteries of exile, love and longing are still playing out for me. This is a fabulous read.

This was a quick but intriguing read. I went through it in one sitting snuggled up in covers with a hot cup of tea on this wonderful snow day. I will pass it along soon.

I adore this little book. The repetitiveness of his Japan trips. The stark writing. The hundreds of words that are not written but being said. WONDERFUL!!
