Breakfast at Tiffany's is a novella by Truman Capote published, along with three of his short stories, in 1958. It is on the list of 1001 books to read before you die.

The novella tells the story of a one-year (autumn 1943 to autumn 1944) friendship between the main character, Holiday ("Holly") Golightly, and an unnamed narrator. The two are both tenants in a brownstone apartment in Manhattan's Upper East Side.

In 1961, the novella was loosely adapted into the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's starring Audrey Hepburn. The movie was transposed to contemporary times rather than the 1940s, the period of the novel.

I found that I enjoyed the book more as it had a much more realistic/less Hollywood feel about it. The film was too much "happy ever after".

The other stories are:
House of Flowers
A Diamond Guitar
A Christmas Memory

book size: 111mm x 179mm x 11mm, 94g, paperback

I loved the book and film - book was better.
