Hidden Currents
From afar, Sheriff Jackson Deveau has always loved Elle Drake, the youngest telepath of seven sisters. After a long time away, she's finally returning to the small coastal village of Sea Haven. But someone has other plans for Elle, someone who doesn't want her to make it back.
When Elle fails to arrive home, her disappearance strikes fear in the hearts of everyone who loves her. Now it's left to Jackson to uncover the mystery of Elle's vanishing and rescue her from an unseen danger. But Sea Haven is no longer safe for anyone, and it will take the [owers of all the Drake sisters and their men to survive the oncoming storm.

Praise for the Drake Sisters novels.

This was my favorite so far of the sisters series. I really like the action and the emotions leaped off the page. But, I liked and didn't like the ending - it wrapped up to easy. The wedding was too easy - but, cute.

I am glad I read them. This will be on it's way shortly.

This was the best one of all. All of the sisters are married now and the legacy goes on. I almost wish it could continue with the next generation! Thanks so much for sharing these books. Sending on to next reader.

This was waiting when I returned home from my trip... The last in the series, feels strange to think it's all drawing to a close!

Hard to believe this is the end! Although the beginning was almost too much, I really enjoyed this one. Now I'd really like to know about Ilya's brother... The finale was a little over the top, but fun anyway. Sad this series is (apparently) at an end. I'd definitely be up to reading about the next generation. Thanks so much for making this available. I'll try to get it out soon but I've had a lot of backlog from work and have been ill.

---Possibly some SPOILERS although I've tried to work around that---

I liked how we in this book got to spend time with the other couples. I didn't particularly cared for the violence, it was gruesome in some of the other books as well but this one was extrem. I can see how it is a statement in the trafficking "debate" of our modern society, an awful buisness, which this story help all of us understand if we didn't before. However, it is not that type of book that need such graphic explanations and even given the fact that Elle is magic and a fast healer it was unbelievable how soon she was Ok and how soon she was able to have "normal" sex again.

I am glad that we could follow the story to the end. See the legacy be carried on and I liked how the house changed (and at times even moved) for them.

I would have liked to know how the whole magic things works. What happens to the other sisters when new magic children are born. I also would have liked to meet the parents, see how their mom used her magic. It would have been fun to listen in on a talk between Elles father and Jackson, it can't be easy living in a household of magic girls.

I didn't particularly like all the loose ends. She could have wrapped it up better, wheather she plans to continue with more books or not. (Isn't it ironic how short the first one was to the last one, wonder if she knew where she was heading from the start.)

I do however like that I could participate in this spiral and have enjoyed the stories.

Well, I guess I'll just be honest. This book wasn't my cup of tea. I don't want to start ranting but I had several issues with this book. The gratuitous violence being one of it; not only were most scenes in there seriously disturbing, but also just unnecessarily graphic. I want to read a romance novel, not Rambo!! Secondly, all this torture and violence begs the question of what the point of it all is. I mean, maybe I am just dense and am not "getting it". But it appeared to me that the book's main point is to hammer home the utter degradation, victimization and destruction of an otherwise extremely powerful woman - both body and soul. We just can't have her too powerful, can we. It seemed to me like Feehan was nearly undoing all that she set up in her previous books. Didn't we all just love the series BECAUSE these women were so strong because of their awesome, magical power? Indeed, we are being told repeatedly of how Elle is the sister with the strongest magic. And oh, I was so looking forward to seeing more of it: but in the end we got to see hardly anything. She was, for the most part, a pitiful and weak character who needed to be rescued (over and over again) by Jackson. This is neither romantic nor interesting. I kept hoping for her to get her act together so she can finally, really show Stravos her real power ("C'mon, show the sucker what you can really do!!"). Well, I guess we got to see it (a little) at the end when she manages to ward off Stravos' final attack. THIS is when things finally started to get interesting! And then, guess what ... the book ends.
Doh.

Well, I did enjoy the parts of the sisters being together. Seeing Hannah in her element is always fun!! And reading about the men and how they interact with the family. The basic idea behind it all is so brilliant! It is just such a pity that Feehan didn't manage to keep up this initial magic and sweetness that made the first few books so successful ...

Despite this disappointing end, I am glad I read the series! Thank you so much Flossie for sharing! Without your generosity I probably never would have ventured out to read this series in the first place.

Going to send on the book ASAP.

Thanks, flossie771 for making these books available. I enjoyed the conclusion of this series and would love to drop in on the sisters in the future to see how their lives evolve. It will be particular madness at Elle's house - and that would be too much fun! But on to this book -

Actually, I found Hidden Currents more than a little disturbing. I did not appreciate the violence and depravity Elle was subjected to, and while I am sure it is a fact of life somewhere, I really do not enjoy reading about it in a paranormal romance book. (For this type of information, there are numerous other books you can rely on and it is NOT fiction.) And, am I the only one who thought it was more than a little strange that Elle's parents did not rush back to be with their traumatized daughter? Not a word was mentioned about them and they are characterized as a close-knit loving family. The parents just rather showed up - just in time - for the wedding. That whole family dynamic has not made much sense to me throughout the series. Either you are a cohesive family unit or you are not.

All in all, a good series. Will be posting it back to flossie771 this week.
