This book really captures the flavour of the troubled Tudor period, the rivalries between the three children of Henry VIII, especially Mary and Elizabeth. The fictional characters are well drawn, and the factual ones, whom we think are so well known to us through history, prove to be not so well known as flesh and blood individuals until brought to life here.

I picked this book up at The UK Uncon. I hear that Phillipa Gregory is a good historical writer so I thought I'd give her a try.

I never did read this but I lent it to a relative who really enjoyed it. Time to move it on so am reserving it for the Dublin Convention in April 2012.

Since this location is named in honor of Queen Victoria's visit and the view beloved of her ladies in waiting, i thought this was an appropriate spot. We had rain off and on during our tour, but this little book is in a nice release bag and should be safe and dry.
