I wouldn't have bought this book if I had realised it was written from the screenplay, which came first. It seems to me against the proper order of things.
Because I knew that Jodie Foster and Liam Neeson had been cast in the starring roles and beause of the way it is written, reading it was a little like watching the film, although I've never seen it.
the story is compelling, and quite beautiful in parts, although possibly a little calculating in manipulating the emotions of the reader, and seems to end too suddenly. But I suppose that's Hollywood for you.
