I laughed, I cried.
I enjoyed the story, but the naming conventions (i.e., Mr and Mrs X, Nanny) drove me nuts! They never became 'real' to me, instead were just a characature of a typical Upper East Side family. That aside, the story was quite enjoyable - plenty of laughs and some tears. The ending didn't set well with me, but was that due to Nanny's actions (or lack of), I'm not certain.
Over, it's a amusing parody of the lives of the "haves" in Manhattan.

I just received this book in the mail as requested. It was recommended to me by an acquaintance and sounds very interesting!
I give this book and 8, because I related to it so well. I was never a nanny, but have always been a babysitter and have lived and heard about some of these situations. I really liked the book, and I recommend it to anyone who has ever watched someone else's kids. If you don't know any people like the ones Nanny babysits for, consider yourself very lucky! Like MarciNYC, the bookcrosser who read this before me, I really didn't like the main character names (X'es and Nanny), and I did not care for the ending.
