it seems a lot of these newbery winners are set in west virginia. this is another boy and dog story, although its focus is actually on some interesting topics including how one decides what's right and what's wrong. a quick read and although not terribly deep it would be good for younger readers.

I know I read this book as a kid, but I'd like to re-read it again. I have a copy in Mt. TBR, though, so I don't need to keep this one!
