This is an excellent book. Dense, rich and full of all the curved balls that life can throw at a group of people. Examines the idea of a long kept secret and the choices and perceptions that people make because of race. Is what we see on the outside really ever representative of the person on the inside? I will definately read more Philip Roth books after reading this one. Highly recommended!

Read as part of the 1001 books challenge, this book will be released as part of my 6 month anniversary RABCK in a few weeks.

What a lovely surprise after the postal strike to get this book today plus all the nice goodies you sent with it. I love the tile and I'll stick it up somewhere as a reminder of a special serendipity.I'll most probably'll re-use the box as it's quite hard to find the right size, even here where we receive books from publishers daily!
