Yet another book for my "to be read" pile.

I really enjoyed this book. The book is laugh out loud funny in some places and just strange in others but it was never boring.

It's impossible for me to describe the story but here are a few comments. It covers multiple generations of a couple different families living in London. It addresses issues of race, culture, sex/gender roles, class, fate/karma, history, and even eugenics. There are more literary allusions than I could count. I added several new words to my vocabulary (anagnorisis, ouroboros).

Anyway, go to one of the book sites (amazon, powell's) if you want an actual synopsis of the story! I won't attempt one here!

I do remember one review that said if you don't like the first 20 pages then you probably won't like the rest of the book. I agree. Those initial scenes with Archie set the tone for the whole novel.

Excited to finally FIND a bookcrossing book instead of releasing one! Designated bookcrossing spots are a cool idea.
