Picked up book this book at a PayLessBooks warehouse sale a while back, probably sometime last year or even earlier than that. It's been sitting patiently in a sealed box all these time. A couple of weeks ago, i finally opened up the box. It felt like opening a Christmas present. The sight of a whole box full of books i have never read is simply delightful ^^
I read through the whole book under the impression that it's fiction, although i did have my doubts from time to time. The characters seemed so incredibly real yet all too genius at the same time. Only after i googled it did i find out that MOD did exist and that all that i read in the book is as close to the facts as possible.
I grew up with computers, at a time when my first computer was slightly more advanced than the ones the hackers in the book used. I am, however, old enough to remember the dial-up tones and the huge boxy computers back in those days. And even though MOD started before i was born, i followed the highly entertaining book as if reading part of my long lost memory.
