I'd already read "The Ghost and Mrs. McLure" - enjoyed that & this one. Now I want to read more from this series. Lots about books and bookstores. This plot is centred around a secred code to be found in a book by Poe.

I read this in one sitting. I really liked the character of Jack the ghost. He seems like he was a great guy when he was alive. LOL. Although this is a fun read, the writer got the balance right so I didn't spend the whole time thinking it was all just ridiculous.
I've spotted this on someone else's wishlist so hope to get it travelling again soon.

Thank you very much for the wishlist book, postcard and labels, Colombina! It is too bad, I have no books of your wishlist. I'll read this book soon and give it to someone else.
Have a nice autumn!

I like this book very much. It is so nice to read it and do some Christmas baking in between.

Journal Entry 19 by wingkirjakkowing at Helsinki, Uusimaa / Nyland Finland on Friday, December 30, 2016
Nearly missed journaling this book which was underneath everything else that came back from today's meet-up at Sanomatalo. Nice to see an oldie still travelling, with lots of mileage behind. And some good reviews.
Annelis, why didn't I see any bakings at the meet-up, they look delicious on the photo? Just kidding, thank you for the BC-supplies, they are much less fattening!

I'll be in the country for Midsummer and the following week, keeping a private eye on two horses and four dogs. Just began the book, will pack it along.

Finished. I have known plenty of people who collect books, but they haven't been nearly as fanatic as this man I sold an old Arabia-china factory's milk jar in the Finnish equivalent of eBay. The bidding got really frantic in the last ten minutes or so, the price reaching 1125€. He was going to trade the jar on to another collector who has over 6000 Arabia milk jars, more than the Museum of Arabia Factory itself has. He was so enthusiastic over having won the bidding and talked about milk jars for over half an hour. I was also happy, having been told by an antique dealer I could get 150€ for the jar... Perhaps I have read too many mysteries, but I wanted to make the trade in a cafeteria instead of telling him to fetch it from my home.

Back to the book... I am usually not overly excited about ghost books, but this was an OK read and even if the little Poe I've read hadn't been to my liking, the plot here kept me guessing until the end.

Almost forgot: The message in the book was that it would be dishonest to read a book and then sell it in the shop as new. First of all, this was a shop which sold both new and used books. Secondly, when I worked at the Academic Bookstore we were encouraged to take books home and read them in a way that they still looked new. It was in the best interest of the shop (and its clients) that we knew what we were selling.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

I've tagged Chania with this book. She thinks she has to read the first two in the series before reading this. I tried to convince her that one can jump right in.

Pic: Two of my responsibilities for next week. They were very annoyed for ending up in this temporary stable as a) their field was been enlarged b) it was pouring rain last night.

Journal Entry 23 by wingChaniawing at Kokkola, Keski-Pohjanmaa / Mellersta Österbotten Finland on Friday, July 7, 2017
Thank you! I do have to add the first two on my wishlist, but if I don't get them, I might give up and read this sooner :)

Journal Entry 24 by wingChaniawing at Kokkola, Keski-Pohjanmaa / Mellersta Österbotten Finland on Sunday, April 21, 2019
I ended up reading this without the first two anyway - it was nice, but somehow I couldn't concentrate on it properly, don't know why. So, nice but I don't necessary need more of this series.

Leaving this somewhere in Turku during the Bookcrossing Summer Meeting.

Journal Entry 26 by sannuli at Joensuu, Pohjois-Karjala / Norra Karelen Finland on Sunday, August 18, 2019
