On a whim, I searched the listings at AbeBooks and eBay for the keywords "bookcrossing" or "BCID" or variants, and found several listings that included some reference to BC labels in the descriptions. (I don't mind seeing BC books in bookstores or for sale - that's part of a book's life cycle as far as I'm concerned. And in this case the BC info was preserved, so that's good too.) I decided to order a few of those books so I could re-release them, and this softcover - signed by the author! - arrived today. (Hi, DameEdna!)
The book includes Bavarian recipes, which intrigued me - one of my favorite local restaurants is Bavarian, and I've enjoyed some very tasty meals there. (I had to look up the New Prague Hotel - turns out it's in New Prague, Minnesota. The building's on the National Register of Historic Places thanks to Schumacher's efforts, but has changed hands several times since his long tenure there; currently it's called The Broz, and has recently been renovated. Pity I won't be traveling any time soon - would be rather fun to pay it a visit!)
