I love Jennifer Weiner novels as they are funny, entertaining, page turning reads. And I must admit that while I really enjoyed this book, it is not her usual genre but more of a mystery but in her same style of writing.
The story focuses on the character Kate Klein joined by her friend Janie, trying to solve a murder in Kate’s neighborhood and bounces you into the time when she and her friend first met. This is fairly integral to the story as the murder is investigated by the duo and a former neighbor. The storyline keeps you guessing until the end with a bunch of twists. That is all I will say as I don’t want to give away the plot.
I did think that Ben’s character [Kate’s husband] could have been a little bit more developed in the story – while not integral, it would have been nice to read. I think Evan's character could have been closed out of the story ending more effectively. But 'tis only my opinion.
As I said, I enjoyed this book and was very happily surprised to find it to be a mystery. I think most of Weiner fans will enjoy the book. It was really good! =D

11Jun09 update: Had a teeny fender bender en route to post office. While all is fine, I didn't make it before they closed. It went out today. (Mailed with another book that was part of a ring.)

Rec'd this wishlist book today as a RBACK. Thank You so much
This is the 3rd Weiner book I have read. I have to say it is my favorite. The people written about here are not so dysfunctional that it is unbelievable to me. Will continue to read her books.
