I remember a co-worker reading this and enjoying it, so I saw it at Barnes and Noble and picked it up. Sounds very interesting!

A serious and respectful, yet hilarious, look at A. J. Jacobs, a self-described secular Jew, who tries to follow the commandments and laws of the Bible as literally as possible for an entire year. As he goes through the year, with the help of Jewish rabbis and Christians of every kind, he finds that the act of living Biblically is changing the way he thinks.

I learned some things about Christianity from this book. Several times I was challenged to rethink my position, and came away believing that it’s impossible to take the entire Bible literally.

Thanks so much for the RABCK - was a great 'Christmas' present. This arrived last week but just getting a chance to sit down and journal it (sorry for the delay). Thanks so much pinklady60, looking forward to reading this and passing it on its travels.

Sorry - re-logging under my details, thought I was logged in. This is how disordered 2010 has been so far, yikes.

Can’t believe I had this on my TBR list for so long!!
I finished it in February and actually finished another AJ Jacobs in the meantime (Know-It-All) and bought another one of his.

I like how the author really dives into his projects full on! He also does a lot of research and interviews, and brings his own personal life during his project into the book too. It did take me a long time to get through the book though, and I’m not sure why. I enjoyed his writing and to think about the bible from different angles, along with the hilarity he brought to it.

Thank you PinkLady60 for sending it to me, I still have the postcard! I will release into my new Little Free Library and hope that it has some more travels within and outside Manitoba!
