Morris Bober was an aging Jewish shopkeeper, trying to live a life that was becoming increasingly impossible in the modern city.

Helen Bober was his daughter, torn between love for her parents and hunger for the luxuries her voluptuous beauty could bring.

Frank Alpine was a Gentile, a thief a hard young man out for himself, yet painfully unsure of just who he was.

Together these three form the intensely dramatic core of one of the finest novels of our time --- The Assistant.

I actually had a copy of this book at one point, registered here, but I've never read it. I'll probably let it keep traveling for now.

This book enjoyed a brief visit to San Jose, CA before continuing its travels in the "Professions" book box.

This book came home in my professions bookbox. I thought of reading this one because I enjoy older books sometimes, but I think I will just release it elsewhere. Thanks for participating!
